Use Orientr while it is still evolving and help shape which training features matter most.
Read the map. Choose a route. Navigate the terrain.
Orientr gives you a VR training environment where the challenge is not following instructions. It is reading the map, making navigation decisions, and learning from each rep.
1. Select a course
Choose from available terrains and courses designed around orienteering-style navigation.
2. Navigate in VR
Move through the terrain using map-reading skills, route choice, and terrain awareness.
3. Finish and review
Complete the course using orienteering rules, then review how well you navigated.

Common questions.
Is Orientr a game or a training simulator?
Orientr is a VR orienteering simulator focused on navigation training. It is designed around map reading, route choice, terrain interpretation, and repeatable practice.
Who is Orientr for?
Orientr is currently built for experienced orienteers who already understand map and compass fundamentals.
What does “review how well you navigated” mean?
Right now, “review how well you navigated” means looking at whether you completed the course in the correct control sequence, your elapsed time, and the route you took compared with more direct attack points between controls. Longer term, we are working toward a more sophisticated review model that can account for route efficiency, terrain cost, and decision-making patterns. That gap between finishing a course and actually learning from it is exactly what we want Orientr to help address.
Does Orientr teach beginners how to orienteer?
Not in this Early Access version. The current focus is on athletes who already understand the basics and want more opportunities to practice.
What headset do I need?
Orientr is focused on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S for Early Access.
Is Orientr still in development?
Yes. Orientr is still in active development. Early Access helps us learn which training features matter most, what keeps athletes coming back, and where the product should go next.
When will the full version launch?
We are currently in a validation stage. The next phase depends on user feedback, retention, and whether there is enough signal to continue expanding the product.
